The Covid-19 pandemic did not create hunger and homelessness in our community but it has made it worse. Organizations, restaurants, schools and a significant number of nonprofits have closed their doors during this crisis. The Christian Center does not enjoy that option. As other organizations have reduced services The Christian Center has seen a surge in need for nutritious prepared meals. In addition to the hundreds of men, women and children already served daily we are now preparing meals for delivery to the sick and elderly shut-ins all over Madison County. These services are provided by a ministry staff of six, a dozen volunteer drivers and an additional resident-volunteer group of eight. Due to the critical services provided, TCC has been deemed an essential service for our community. TCC is working in conjunction within CDC and the Madison County Health Department compliance to provide these services to the most vulnerable in Madison County and East-Central Indiana.
